Musical Journey

Maddie Dalton is originally from Southwest Missouri and has been playing bluegrass music for nearly her entire life. She began playing fiddle at the age of five and, as a young teenager, discovered her true passion for the upright bass. She began playing with the band Po’ Anna in 2018, starting her bass career at a young age, before moving into fill-in gigs and freelancing. In the spring of 2023, she was hired by all-female bluegrass band, Sister Sadie.

At 19 years old, Maddie began touring professionally and full-time with the band. Maddie made many appearances at the Grand Ole Opry with the band and in September 2023, she won the International Bluegrass Music Association Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year Award. In 2024, Maddie was nominated for a GRAMMY with Sister Sadie, and was awarded the SPBGMA Bass Fiddle Performer of the Year.

In the spring of 2025, Maddie departed from Sister Sadie and began a new chapter, focusing on finding her own place in bluegrass music. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and joined on as bass player and harmony singer for the Rick Faris Band, while also focusing on studio time and being a music teacher.
